Merry Christmas Cleveland [25 Dec 2011|09:08pm]

[ mood | happy ]

It's been another losing year for the Cleveland Browns but what else is new?

Year after year it's 5-11 or 4-12 and it's become the norm.

Well it looks like another year of losing and another shitty QB that gets knocked around like a punching bag.

Now there isn't even that backstabber LeBron to look forward to watching and the Indians are horrible too.

BUT.. nobody is as pathetic and as horrid as the lowly Browns.

Thanks for all the memories this season...

Go Steelers..!

I Was Asking Mike Snyder [27 Oct 2008|12:16pm]

dclarion
Yesterday, I got through to Mike Snyder, on the post-game show, and I asked him if he had any ideas on what the Browns coaching staff might do to improve performance inside the opponents' 10-yard line.  Of course, this was a call-in show, so we couldn't spend any great amount of time on this one call, so he didn't have much to say, but I'll put the question to you folks:

Do any of you, especially those who might have some practical football experience, have any ideas of what exercises/simulations might help the offense improve their performance in the "red zone"?  I come from the NASA tradition, where you would practice a lunar landing, for example, over and over while SimSup (the Simulation Supervisor) would insert problems and emergency conditions into the simulation and observe your responses.  Could the offense spend a couple of days in Berea scrimmaging with the defense from the 8 or 2 yard line?  Is the defense good enough to offer a fair simulation of field conditions?  Would players balk at such concentrated effort?

The Browns' major problems have historically been penalties and scoring from close-in.  Now that the penalty problem may be on its way to resolution, it's surely time to work on the "red zone".

You do understand that your guys got lucky, right?  Still, it's a win I can live with.

Two touchdowns on short yardage?  The Browns have always sucked on short yardage.

Who are these guys?

Speaking of Browns on Radio [19 Oct 2008|04:58pm]

Is anyone here old enough to remember the Browns on WHK?  They had an opening theme I'd love to find, if it's out there to be found.

I'm listening to Browns@Redskins on the NFL radio feed. I am so happy that Jim Donovan's play-by-play is as good as it is; it makes up for the snare-drum-trumpet-and-french-horn filler that the NFL uses where the commercial advertisements would be, that has "Rommel in Afrika" written all over it:

I don't know if anyone is going to know the answers to this, but it's worth a try....

I wanted to get someone as a present single-day game tickets to a Browns game. I can see that the 2008-09 prices are not up, but does anyone have the 2007 chart handy? I know prices will increase, but I'm trying to get a ballpark figure.

Also, when do tickets go on sale? Has it been announced?

Thanks!

2002 playoff game.
Last year's first game.
The opposite of Last week, ironically from the same score.

Deja vu anyone?

Maybe that lonely dude will quiet down a lil bit......or claim some nonsense.

The Steelers don't have Charlie Frye to beat down this time. Derek Anderson will own the shit out of the Steelers D.

So far, Cribbs, Winslow, Jamal Lewis, Vickers and Eric Wright have been stellar.

Time to even up that record between the two teams (in the seaon standings and overall record)!!! I'm wearing my Braylon jersey proudly. Plus it isn't ugly gold and black.......so that is a plus!

Okay, perhaps some of you who have more experience with this can help me out...

I have tickets for my first Browns game. It's the game against the Texans on Thanksgiving weekend. I'm coming from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and with the assload I'm gonna have to pay just for gas alone, I'm hoping to not pay outrageous amounts for parking, not to mention I don't have any experience driving in the city. Any suggestions?

Also, anyone ever sat in section 345? Is it decent to watch from that general area?

From cbssportsline...

It's so bad [for the Dolphins] that even the lowly Browns had to battle overconfidence.

I swear, they could go 13-3 and still get that shit.

I have a question, maybe someone knows...

Why is Joshua Cribbs only used sparingly outside of kick returns? He's been the consistently good player on this team! I saw him lining up during the last drive, but I didn't see them throw to him once...

Then again, in the tone of this week, he could've been 20 yards wide open, and Anderson would've thrown to someone else who was triple covered.
